Share Your Smile Campaign Shines a Light on Oral Health Disparity

We celebrated Oral Health Month in June with more than 200 oral health advocates who downloaded Share Your Smile Campaign materials to educate an estimated 105,000 children and caregivers about the importance of healthy smiles!

School nurses, dental professionals, teachers, public health workers, and other health advocates in 44 states across the U.S., as well as in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, India, Montenegro, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Slovenia accessed the free educational materials from this campaign.

In addition to that, the free social media kit was accessed more than 750 times to spread awareness about the importance of healthy smiles, communities with inequitable access to dental services, and the career choices that can help people in marginalized communities get the dental care they need to be healthy.

These resources were made possible by a generous contribution from DentaQuest and Sun Life who served as the exclusive campaign sponsors.

Popular resources included:

  • Fun classroom presentations about cavities, gum disease, and bad breath
  • Educational resources for parents
  • Healthy tips for babies, kids, teens and adults
  • Tooth-related crafts and science experiments
  • Information about mouth guards
  • How diet affects oral health for students and parents
  • Information about how oral health impacts overall health

The campaign was capped off with an opportunity for kids to win $250 in the Share Your Smile Hygiene Tracking contest, which will run through the summer.

Access all the educational materials for use at summer enrichment programs and camps, back-to-school events, and in the classroom at ShareYourSmileCampaign.org.
