At the age of 12, Kenny severely damaged his teeth in a bicycle accident. His dental insurance only covered a small portion of his treatment. His mother understood how important his smile is to eat properly, interact with others, and how it greatly influences his self-image, but she struggled to find a dental care provider that could restore his broken smile at a rate she could afford to pay.
Thankfully, she found Augusta Regional Dental Clinic (ARDC) in Fishersville, Virginia. After a consultation, the staff at ARDC determined Kenny would need 12 visits to complete the extensive repairs he needed, including the care of a specialist. As a nonprofit dental clinic ARDC could provide their services at a reduced rate but Kenny's mom was still struggling to pay.
ARDC turned to America's ToothFairy for help. With support from an MGE-funded In the Gap grant, Kenny was able to finish his treatment. At the age of 14, he finally has his smile back and most importantly, he is pain free!
