Thanks to the generosity of MGE: Management Experts, thousands of children across the country are learning how to care for their smiles! As we launched our 2025 fiscal year in July, MGE’s support made it possible to provide 10 of our dental clinic program partners with enough educational materials to teach 10,000 children and their caregivers about the importance of oral health at back-to-school events across the country!
“The educational materials we’ve received help us build trusting, compassionate relationships with kids and their parents.” — Shari Landry, Piedmont Regional Dental Clinic, Orange, VA
At Ravenswood Family Dental in East Palo Alto, CA, a three-year-old boy was hesitant to get a dental screening—until clinic staff used fun, hands-on resources from our educational kits. With a new toothbrush in hand and excitement in his eyes, he bravely participated in his screening, where they discovered he had significant tartar buildup. When asked about his oral hygiene routine, he shared that his toothbrush was “old and broken,” so he had stopped brushing. Thanks to the oral care kit he received, he went home with the tools he needed to start healthy habits.
“This is just one child, but there are many more kids like him who are delighted to receive oral hygiene kits,” said Jessica Yee of Ravenswood Family Dental. “These resources mean that parents struggling to meet basic needs have one less worry on their minds.”
An additional 100 kits were sent to volunteers in 39 states during the month of December to use in their educational outreach in 2025. In all they taught 2,500 families how to keep their smiles healthy!
In 2024 alone, nearly 1.2 million kids and caregivers received dental services and oral health education through our programs and the safety-net clinics we support. Together, we can reach even more kids in 2025. Visit our Smile Guardian page to see how you can sponsor oral health education in your community.
