• Dental care is the leading unmet health care need for children with special needs
  
• 67% of parents with special needs kids report that dentists lack necessary knowledge or are unwilling to treat their children
• People with special needs are prone to oral conditions including tooth anomalies, teeth grinding, gingival overgrowth, and early, severe gum disease
• Many dental offices are not equipped to serve this population due to the cost of care, lack of specialized training, and accessibility issues
